Stuart was an amazing help with selecting a new backpacking bag, tent, sleeping bag, and threking poles to upgrade my 10-15 year old gear. He spent nearly 2 hours answering questions and having me try different gear to find the best fit. Would highly recommend him if you need anything.

REI, Biltmore Park, Asheville NC I love REI so this is not an unbiased review. Every store is a little different. This store has 2 levels with clothing and shoes on the upper floor and all the gear on the main floor. There’s always a good selection of anything you could possibly want for hiking, biking, kayaking, camping, and any other non redneck outdoor sport.

I was shopping for a pair of hiking shoes, socks, and a backpack while visiting Asheville. The nicest gentleman (tall, white-haired man) had a lot of patience with me as I tried to find a pair of vegan hiking shoes that fit right. Thanks for being so helpful. Then I went downstairs and got a pretty nice backpack which I've been enjoying on hikes. What a nice store this one is.
